Did you know that the average person breaks their new year’s resolutions within the first two weeks of the new year? Why is that, you may wonder, and what can we do to not be part of that statistic?
In this episode (which we decided to re-post from a popular podcast we released at the beginning of the year), Dale answers these questions and gives some great advice and strategies for setting or re-working our resolutions to have a more successful and productive coming year.
[00:00:01] It's time for Ask Dale Anything, the show that answers your most perplexing questions with profound answers from one of the top transformational teachers and leaders on the planet, Dale Halaway. I'm your host, Mickey Manning, Dale's left-hand person as I like to call it, and I've never
[00:00:20] heard a question that he can't answer. He's been doing this for over 40 years now, truly has an answer that's profound and helpful on any topic. So with that, let's get into today's
[00:00:32] question. So Dale, I have a question here that was emailed in from Leilani from Hawaii. Makes me want to go to Hawaii. Maybe Leilani, I love the name. I know that's so lovely isn't it? Okay now before
[00:00:52] we get started on Leilani's question here, I just want to remind everyone of our best question bonus giveaway. Please send your question in, like Leilani has done here, to be answered in our,
[00:01:05] to be entered into our best question bonus giveaway. This is an ongoing drawing that we have for one of Dale's transformational courses and it's a win-win because you can potentially get your question answered on air and win one of Dale's transformational courses. So please
[00:01:19] send your question to Askadel at AskadelAnything.com. That's Askadel at AskadelAnything.com and with that, let's get into today's question. So Leilani from Hawaii, that's just fun to say, she asks, oh this is a good one Dale, she says, I made some New Year's resolutions and I'm already
[00:01:46] struggling to stick to them. I want to have a more productive year and am concerned about the rocky start I'm off to. What advice do you have for me so I don't give up and get depressed?
[00:02:02] Well there are two things that you want to explore when it comes to setting your resolutions for the coming New Year. And the first is, is how resolved are you on whatever it is that you
[00:02:17] put to paper as in a resolution? So I teach this always at the very end of the closeout year as we're coming into the New Year and the reason why is because a lot of people, they'll go ahead
[00:02:35] and they'll put down four or five resolutions on a piece of paper as they're coming or as the New Year begins. But for the most part, maybe with the exception of one of those items,
[00:02:45] the majority of the items internally have not yet been resolved, meaning the individual has not resolved the decision to move in that direction. A New Year's resolution is a direction,
[00:02:59] right? So when I say my New Year's resolution is to lose X number of pounds, gain X number of pounds, quit this, start this, whatever that might be, that's a direction. That direction starts with a decision. The decision can only come into full effect when the decision is
[00:03:21] completely resolved. So that's number one. Number two is whatever the resolution is, if you're even fairly close to a resolution, meaning a resolved decision in this regard, then number two is going to come into effect and that is somewhere in the beginning part of the
[00:03:42] New Year, we get activated. And what I mean by activated, whatever it is inside of us that potentially might hold us back or block us from achieving that resolution, that goal, accomplishing that decision or direction, that part of us is going to make itself known to us.
[00:04:09] As that part of us makes itself known to us, it can do one of a couple things. And the first and most obvious thing is to derail us, to derail us off of our path or off of this
[00:04:25] directional path that we've made a decision to go down as in I now put on my resolution list to do this, to do that, whatever that might be. And so now I'm moving in that direction,
[00:04:37] but this part of me is either afraid of that direction. This part of me has issues possibly with me, as in this might be a part of me that's really angry with me, or it might be a part of me that
[00:04:51] feels really insecure. And now I'm moving towards a place where my insecurity might be exposed to someone or to even a group of people. Let's say I'm working in a company and I've
[00:05:05] made a resolution that's more career related in this regard, whatever it is that inside of me will activate. It'll start to make itself known. Now this is where we want to have a certain level
[00:05:19] of consciousness or awareness around this part of us so we can better recognize it because if we don't recognize it then more than likely what's going to happen, this part of us has enough
[00:05:32] of our power to where it will derail that directional path towards accomplishing whatever we said that, you know, or whatever it was that we put on our resolution list. You know I'm really glad you're bringing this up because every year and I wish Leilani had been
[00:05:52] there for this because every year you do this closing out this year that we're in and then moving into the next year. And so my advice to Leilani right now is to join our mailing list.
[00:06:05] There's a little special offer at the end of this podcast and if you follow that link at dellhellaway.com on our website, join our mailing list. You're going to get emailed for when that
[00:06:17] rolls around again and you can let go of all these things like Dale's talking about and then come into the new year with more intention. So Dale I'm really glad you're addressing this because
[00:06:29] I think this is such a common thing that people overshoot what their expectations are but then like you said they haven't made room and let go of anything else for this to truly work.
[00:06:43] Well yeah it's that or remember it could be that first one too where they their decision is not resolved. This sometimes seems to be you know I've been teaching for a long time as you know
[00:06:54] conducting seminars throughout the country and I've seen this over and over again somebody writes something on their goal list or resolution list something that at least in the moment that they say they want, they want to accomplish your experience or achieve and so they get it on
[00:07:17] their list and then they begin to at least in their mind start moving towards the accomplishment of that very thing and then something begins to happen and that something that begins to happen is showing or you're showing that the person even though they've made the decision to move
[00:07:35] in this direction to accomplish whatever this is that they want to accomplish but that decision is still not yet resolved. It's it's a biggie I mean if you go and you study the great
[00:07:49] achievers of our humanity you'll see among them there's a handful of common qualities or virtues that they all share and one of them is this and yet again because I've worked with this so much
[00:08:08] over the throughout the decades in my teaching and coaching of others that I see this often so this is not unusual in my world far from it. I see it a lot that's why when we do close out the
[00:08:21] year you know as you know I have a whole little piece in there in terms of a ritual that we do or an exercise that we do as a way to help people to increase the odds of only putting
[00:08:34] on their list what they're completely resolved to actually accomplish because if it's not completely resolved now this is all an internal thing. This is all something's got to happen inside none of this happens on the outside all this must happen on the inside so where
[00:08:54] I've made a resolution to move towards something so needed to say I've obviously decided on some level the fact that I've written it down on a piece of paper suggests that I've decided but it doesn't mean that I've resolved the decision when the decision becomes 100% resolved not 99%
[00:09:14] when it becomes 100% resolved something quite frankly very powerful happens all from within us but it's only when that decision is completely resolved you've got to go the whole distance
[00:09:29] and so and this is where I see the biggest breakdown and you know and if I mean if you look at the even the research that's been done in this area you know on average people will set three to five
[00:09:43] resolutions for the new year and sometimes they'll write them down on a piece of paper sometimes they won't sometimes they'll just speak them out loud whether you know doing a toast with a glass of champagne or something and by the third week of February of the new year
[00:10:02] it's like it never even took place whatever they put to paper whatever they spoke out loud it's all forgotten about I mean it just shows that in this case obviously you know there was
[00:10:18] some kind of a decision that was made but the work was not done to resolve the decision those who get a lot done those who achieve greater things all of them have at least this quality they've developed this quality or they've empowered this virtue with inside themselves
[00:10:42] they recognize the significance and quite frankly the power that gets released from within us only when the decision becomes completely resolved as I often say you'll know when you're in the presence of somebody that's resolved their decision because at that point there's only one direction
[00:11:02] that's it it's one direction and it's a forward oriented direction period you don't see them with one foot in and one foot out anymore whereas somebody who makes their list of resolutions or more specifically where the research has been done and they found that the majority of people
[00:11:22] come that third week of February into the new year that whatever the resolutions were that they came up with they're all now forgotten about well what has happened there is that yes they might have made a minor decision to move in that direction
[00:11:37] but they didn't resolve the decision and if you don't resolve the decision then you could still get that activation I alluded to the difference now is going to be when the activation happens
[00:11:48] the activation will take over in other words you you will probably won't even recognize this part of you that's activated that's kind of in the way or holding you back or going to put up some
[00:12:00] kind of a blocker in your process of moving towards accomplishing this resolution you're not even going to see that because your decision from the very get go was never completely resolved
[00:12:13] and so one of the things I do is you know when I'm working with people especially at the end of the year we're looking at things like resolutions I take this much more seriously than the
[00:12:25] average person does because I already know that if they if the resolution which is nothing more than a decision or a goal if that is not completely resolved then you kind of know it from there
[00:12:38] you can kind of see the right in the wall where this thing's going to land in just only weeks to come versus the person who only puts to the list those items those desires where he or she
[00:12:53] is completely resolved that they are now moving in this direction both feet are in the game both feet are moving in the same direction no more this one foot in one foot out somebody who's
[00:13:06] like 90% resolved what that means I got one foot in and one foot out and as long as you've got one foot in and one foot out the most you could do is do a back and forth movement
[00:13:17] where you move a couple of steps ahead and then you move a couple steps back then you move a couple steps head and then you move a couple steps back it's one foot in one foot out that's somebody that has not yet resolved their decision somebody who's completely
[00:13:31] resolved third decision well you kind of get it now it's both feet both feet in moving in the exact same direction in a more forward oriented direction and now when they get activated
[00:13:43] now they want to learn about that activated energy they want to learn how to work through that activated energy because now they are truly on their way to accomplishing or materializing their resolution okay that makes a lot of sense now so i'm thinking you know for leilani specifically
[00:14:03] because obviously we're not even all the way through january yet and she's having this wavering so definitely both feet aren't in so when you're in this type of situation what's the best strategy rather than get hard on yourself and get depressed and give up
[00:14:18] what's the best thing for her to do now to you know regroup and obviously we're pretty early in the year still you know is it okay for her to change her goals and to reprioritize or you
[00:14:28] know what would your advice be to her for this situation yeah well we can always change our goals that's that's the cool thing um however in this case i would just take another look at your
[00:14:40] list of resolutions that you came up with and just answer that question honestly to yourself you know are you completely resolved with your decision to move in this direction and as i always recommend to anybody and everybody so let's say you start off with a list of 10
[00:14:59] and in the list of 10 you identify two items that you're completely resolved put your energy in those two let go of the other eight you're not ready for the other eight you gotta remember to resolve a decision usually to resolve a decision as a process
[00:15:16] very seldom does somebody resolve a decision overnight i mean that life is about making decisions clearly and but you know we have a very small percentage of our populace that are considered
[00:15:32] to be really good at making decisions many are not in fact many get stuck in the process of making a decision so if i've made a decision to move in a certain direction again coming back
[00:15:47] that resolution then now the process begins to resolve the decision so it might take me a couple of weeks to resolve that decision quite frankly i know of many people who it's taken them a couple
[00:15:59] of years to resolve a decision it all depends on how big the decision is and more specifically how much that decision is how much that decision to move in that direction is going to challenge us
[00:16:13] because when i make a decision to do something maybe a little bigger than normal in my life no matter how i cut it doesn't matter where i'm at along my journey that decision is going
[00:16:22] to challenge me along the way and that's going to show up where i'm going to have challenging moments i'm going to have obstacles that are they're going to come out of nowhere so to speak all of these things that's what shows how resolved you are in the decision
[00:16:38] but the moment something happens like as in an obstacle or a hiccup or a challenge or a bump in the road so to speak as you're moving towards materializing that resolution that's where you get to see how resolved the individual is in their decision when they're completely resolved
[00:16:57] they navigate through the hiccup they work through the bump in the road they work through the challenge consciously and courageously and responsibly somebody who's not yet resolved in their decision even though they made a decision but they're not yet resolved
[00:17:11] they can be knocked off the path so quick it can make their head spin because they're not resolved that's the power the power only gets released when the decision becomes resolved
[00:17:22] so we would all be far better off to go with one or two items where we can honestly and genuinely say i'm resolved in this decision to reach to achieve whatever it is that i'm putting
[00:17:39] setting myself on course to achieve now or to accomplish in the name of that resolution and why would that be so key because again now you're completely resolved you're still going to be challenged we all are every single one of us are going to be challenged
[00:17:54] if my resolution is to lose a bunch of weight come on you got to call a spade a spade right you're going to be challenged along the way that this is not going to be a cakewalk
[00:18:05] right especially if you have a lot of weight to lose or what's known as real heavy heavy weight dense weight that it's going to be a challenge and not just one time but probably multiple times
[00:18:17] but again when we're resolved in the decision that means both feet are in we only have one direction one forward oriented direction when that happens you're still going to be challenged the difference
[00:18:29] is you're going to stand up to the challenge the difference is you're going to embrace the challenge the difference is you're going to navigate and work your way through the challenge you're going to try it at whatever speed you can handle whatever rhythm you can handle
[00:18:44] you're you're still going to try it because that's the power of a resolved decision so and then as far as the other things on the list if it turns out that you're just not completely resolved yet
[00:18:55] that could be one of a couple things going on one is those things you put in the list they're all fake they're phony meaning you're not even to move in that direction this is not even for you
[00:19:09] whatever this is so that's one two could be is that there is something on the list that's real for you to move towards but maybe you're not quite ready for it and if you're not ready you're not
[00:19:22] ready if you're not ready again that means you're not resolved in your decision to move in that direction so I'm I'm a big cheerleader for let's set ourselves up for success right from
[00:19:34] the gecko and stop this thing of setting ourselves up for failure there's nothing more you know that will decrease someone's self-esteem and someone's self-confidence in this context where you've got five or six things on your resolution list as you're coming into the new year and then come
[00:19:54] February they're all gone not because you achieved them they're just all forgotten about that doesn't do anything for your self-esteem it doesn't do anything for your self-confidence and quite frankly if that's been your way then there's a possibility it actually lowers your self-esteem
[00:20:10] weakens your self-confidence so that's not cool you see so here it's like let's set our let's all of us learn how to set ourselves up for success we want to be moving forward in our life we want
[00:20:24] to be maturing and evolving and growing and healing and learning all those kinds of wonderful things but let's be clear on this let's yeah I mean if we can let's do a better job at setting
[00:20:35] ourselves up for success instead of this unconscious drive to potentially set ourselves up for a failure so in this case if again if I got 10 things on the list and identify two of them where I can
[00:20:47] honestly and genuinely say to my best friend or to my husband or wife or my partner or one of my parents or one of my kids or whoever I'm going to declare this out loud to that I am resolved I am
[00:21:01] doing this I am doing this I know there's going to be challenges and like the rock Dwayne Johnson often says bring it on well bring it on of course you're going to say bring it on when you're
[00:21:14] resolved you're probably not going to say bring it on when you're not resolved you see and so to set ourselves up for a more successful venture let's go for the items on the list that we know
[00:21:27] that we are completely resolved in the other items could be again maybe they're really not to be there as I said earlier on or the ones that really are to be there but we're not completely resolved
[00:21:38] that means we have more work to do to move the needle forward in our life around becoming completely resolved on those other items in terms of our decision and moving that direction
[00:21:50] and once we're resolved then maybe they go on next year's list or maybe the next time you come back and readjust your goals you readjust your goals and you bring on one of those items when
[00:22:00] you can honestly and genuinely say that I am now resolved I am now doing this I'm not going to do this I am doing this that's also the marker of a someone who's resolved 100% in their decision
[00:22:15] to do something it's no longer I'm going to do this or I'll try to do this pay attention to the language it will always show itself they speak in present context I am doing this that's because they're completely resolved in their decision to move in this direction
[00:22:33] what a great tip and you're so right it is what what comes out of your mouth that's one of the things I remember you talking about at one point was you know carry on a little pad with you and
[00:22:44] write down all those little Freudian slips that come out or you know whatever you want to call them but it's amazing what we tell on about ourselves when we do add and I think that
[00:22:53] was such a great tip that you had us do once and you know pay attention because like you said you know there's a big difference between I am doing this and I can do this or I will do
[00:23:02] this so thank you for that piece yes absolutely so you know Dale I was thinking while we're here I would love for you to actually get into some of your strategies some tips for how to actually
[00:23:17] get things done daily because you know we can have this list and we can even have these two or three goals and if we're not very productive or not setting ourselves up for success as you
[00:23:29] said then we're not going to get very far so in some of your classes I've heard you teach on you know how to prepare the day before and to be realistic about what you might be able to
[00:23:38] accomplish and I wonder if you could share with Leilani and our other listeners what that might look like in order for them to be more able to accomplish their goals sure probably the simplest thing you know I have a course online an on-demand course called or entitled
[00:23:59] productivity powerhouse and it's about a 10 hour long course and I mean there are some just really powerful principles and techniques and tools and exercises for quite frankly becoming very productive in your world and ultimately we all ought to be productive there's nothing
[00:24:18] better when we're coming to the end of our life and we can honestly and genuinely say that we were productive as a human being we were productive as a man as a woman as a husband
[00:24:28] as a wife as a father as a mother you get the idea in the course of our life it just leaves us with such incredible feeling in that literally pervades or permeates our entire system
[00:24:42] versus the person who is non-productive who doesn't produce a lot you know they just basically get by from month to month to month and so on and so forth and make sure all their little addictive
[00:24:53] behaviors are met and fulfilled and not that it's bad not that it's good it's just that they're not being really productive so therefore they never get to touch that higher more expanded
[00:25:06] more powerful and you might even say divine feeling that comes into us when we are being productive and especially when we're producing what we're really to be producing in our world so you know
[00:25:18] that's why I call it productivity powerhouse it's uh when you start to tap in on how to be productive you can become quite the powerhouse with inside of yourself because again you're
[00:25:30] releasing a power an authentic power that resides within you as you learn how to do this so one of the simple things simple as a simple it's very profound that you could do is the day before the night
[00:25:47] before you go to bed identify three or four things three or four things that you would like to accomplish the following day and these three or four things you know again
[00:25:59] because of my work I've watched people you know they run around with a list of 101 things to do and sometimes their worth and identity is so hooked into their list when you sit down to talk with them
[00:26:10] one of the first things they do they want to show you their list they want to show you how big their list is or when they feel you are correcting them or giving them constructive criticism they
[00:26:22] don't maybe see it as constructive criticism uh because they're they think they're working so hard and right away their defense is they come out with their list of 25 things that they've got
[00:26:31] to do as a way to somehow convince you that they're really busy well there's a difference between people being busy versus people being productive and that difference is like night and day difference
[00:26:44] and so a lot of people get caught up in the trap where they they've convinced themselves that busyness means productivity and nothing could be further from the truth when you're around somebody who's truly productive that person can be busy or have a full schedule as they
[00:27:03] sometimes refer to it as but it's not the kind of busyness that's crazy or scattered or highly stressful or creates all kinds of anxiety it's the kind of busyness they just have a full schedule
[00:27:15] they are able to get a lot done they're able to be productive they're able to move the needle forward in that of their day to day world on a regular basis and so one of the things that I teach
[00:27:28] in in this particular course is this idea of identifying three or four items the night before the day that you're about to enter and so now you notice it said three to four I don't say
[00:27:41] 14 to 16 I don't even say six to eight none of that because with the majority people quite frankly three or four things if you can actually get three or four things done where you can honestly
[00:27:55] honestly say you were productive with those three or four things you will move the needle forward in your day to day life personally professionally all the time and you will become one happy camper
[00:28:08] so to speak at the end of the week the end of the month the end of the year because you will be producing and there's something really magical that happens for all of us not just one of us
[00:28:19] but for all of us when we are productive individually speaking it's that feeling it's that amazing feeling that I alluded to a moment ago that just bestows itself upon us it really is and happens for anybody and everybody in fact this has even been tested through case studies
[00:28:38] that people who are productive in the workforce versus people who are not productive the ones who are not productive they often say how busy they are the ones who are really productive very
[00:28:48] seldom do you hear them say busy and they might say I've got a full schedule got a lot to do today but the bottom line is the group that's really productive by far they ride in a higher state
[00:29:00] of feeling than the group who's just always busy the group who's always busy once in a while they can maybe feel good about themselves but it's once in a while the group that clearly is
[00:29:11] being productive each and every day they literally elevate into this state this this higher state of feeling where the bottom line is on a real practical level they just feel better about themselves
[00:29:23] they feel better about their worlds they feel amazing they go home at the end of their workday to have dinner with their families and they're just they're they're just different in in the healthiest of ways than the other group and so when you identify three or four items
[00:29:39] but three or four items that you're going to get done or three or four items that maybe you have a big item that you're working on like maybe you're in the magazine business and you've got a whole
[00:29:49] magazine to write well of course you're not going to do that overnight or in the course of one day but you're probably going to do that in the course of the month so then you've
[00:29:56] got to break that down you got to break it down so one of your three or four items is going to have something to do very specifically with the magazine you might be writing an article for example
[00:30:07] and in that article that article might take you a few days to ultimately produce you know by the time you find the person to interview you interview that person you write the articles got to be edited
[00:30:17] you get the idea so but on each step of the way as it from day to day that becomes another item as in one of the three or four items so you're always moving the needle forward
[00:30:31] around these three or four items your mind your mind my end your mind actually works better when you give it three or four items through the course of the waking day that you want to
[00:30:46] accomplish so whatever they are so and then of course the other thing you'll notice I said the night before the day before there's also value and significance of creating your list of three or
[00:30:59] four items and you decide whichever ones they are you're going for items for example that you know you got to get done and again it could be a like a smaller item in that of a larger item like that
[00:31:13] idea of the magazine in terms of one of your three or four items or maybe there's two of your three or four items that had that relate to that whatever it is it's the three to four items
[00:31:25] and you decide on what they're going to be the night before and the reason why you do it the night before if you're really interested in becoming more productive is subconsciously your
[00:31:39] subconscious takes on those three or four items now I know to some this is going to sound really strange I get it but just do it and you'll start to benefit from it because what happens your
[00:31:50] subconscious takes on those three or four items and while you are asleep at night your subconscious begins the process of actually working on those three or four items towards accomplishing them now if you've never done this before the first I don't know a few times it's probably not
[00:32:09] going to work super super well it potentially is going to work a little better than anything anything you've ever experienced before but if you do this with the idea in mind to turn this
[00:32:19] into a habit to turn this into a lifestyle where you're doing this all the time then you will be the beneficiary of what I'm talking about the benefit the multiple benefits that will come
[00:32:30] upon you for this because that subconscious that I'm eluding to right now that's the part of you that believe it or not never sleeps you sleep but it doesn't it's like a computer it stays on
[00:32:44] it's in the on position and so and quite frankly it can you're subconscious when given the correct directive can sometimes talk about be productive can accomplish more when you're in a sleep state
[00:32:57] than when you're in the waking state partly because you're not in the way you're not in the way with say your control issues or you're not in the way with your security issues or whatever
[00:33:07] it is that might be going on with you internally that you haven't yet transformed or healed and so but what a great way to start the following day when you when you start the following day and
[00:33:16] you come into your day gently and you do your warm-ups or whatever you do as in maybe a little stretching or a cup of hot water a cup of coffee or tea or whatever it is that you do
[00:33:26] to gently come into the day and then shortly thereafter at some point you're in full work mode so to speak towards accomplishing these three or four items you will be amazed the more you do of
[00:33:39] this in this way of how more effective you start to become around these three or four items again identified the day before effective in the context with moving the needle forward in accomplishing
[00:33:53] these items and and of course as you get better at that then that feeling that again I've spoken of a couple times here now that feeling comes upon you and once you start to get an experience of
[00:34:05] that feeling and what that feeling feels like and you start to like really take a liking to it which my guess is you will um you'll want more of it and once that happens then all of it
[00:34:17] that's when you really move this more into a lifestyle because now you're excited you're motivated you know on some level not only is this working but this can really work well for you
[00:34:28] the more the more the more that you do this I love it boy I started getting so much more done whenever I learned that one from you dill yeah and Leilani I hope that helps and you know
[00:34:44] one of those three to four items can be one of your resolutions that way you know you're sure to accomplish it so hopefully that resonated with everyone and there are so many more teachings
[00:34:55] in this productivity powerhouse that Dale was talking about so if this is resonating with you then go check it out on Dale's website at del halloway.com that's dalehalaway.com and there are many many more courses but that one in particular is one of my favorites because
[00:35:15] we all want to get more done right yeah yeah well and we all I mean it's both getting more done but it's that again it's a feeling of when we're productive when we're productive it just
[00:35:27] naturally produces this feeling and it really does feel good feels good it feels empowering it it feels even calmer everything about it is so good right and that's why you'll see the people
[00:35:42] who are really genuinely productive usually they're a little more on the happier side of people than those who are shall we say just non-productive they're going to life almost like an automatic they're
[00:35:57] going to life repeating the same things over and over again but they're not really happy at the end of their day or the end of their week well if we were to go in and really take a look at
[00:36:06] that you'd probably find or we'd probably find they're not they're not all that productive they maybe are trying to convince themselves they are because maybe they're busy running around town doing this doing that kind of thing but again there's a real difference
[00:36:22] between busyness and productivity last thing I just want to say one thing is we close out Mickey and coming back to the resolution so we'll just circle you know circle back on that
[00:36:32] so now you could take one of your resolutions whatever they are and you could break that down because with every resolution it's going to call for you to actually step into doing something with every resolution in other words the resolution the new year's resolution that is
[00:36:51] it's not just going to happen it's not like you're going to wake up one morning all of a sudden that there you know there it is we're all going to have to do something we're all
[00:37:00] going to have to engage in some kind of an action in order to move the needle forward towards the accomplishing or the achieving of that resolution so in that you could take any one of
[00:37:12] your resolutions and literally come up with one or two items so again three or four items for a total for the day but you can come up with one or two items that are literally items that will
[00:37:25] cause you to move forward towards the accomplishment of that resolution and resolution those items of course would be an action step so some action step that you could be taking tomorrow that's very
[00:37:39] specific to that of the resolution that you would like to achieve and so you do that each and every day whatever that action step is you and you stay true to that you'll be pleasantly surprised
[00:37:52] with how quickly or consistently you can be moving in that direction to where ultimately you achieve your resolution your resolution actually comes true beautiful and feel happy in the process oh yeah and good about yourself like you were saying I love that all right awesome well
[00:38:17] Lailani I hope you appreciated the wonderful answer and I think if you follow these steps that's definitely going to ward off any depression or giving up that you might have been headed towards
